Where Is The Green Cover?

Can one guess to what percentage the emission of carbon has increased over the last ten years due to the increase in our traveling needs, use of electricity for power in industry and at home? And to multiply the problem, the green cover has been systematically reduced due to construction of highways, industries, houses, sports stadium and what not? And to add to misery are the radiation ill effects brought out by the nuclear installations, microwaves, cell phones etc. It becomes our utmost duty to work in harmony with the scientific community to help in development and sustenance of the Green technologies.

Pollution, though could be an off-shoot of technology and development, it is compounded by our ignorance and lack of application of our mind to the issues in hand. Thus the first and foremost duty is to create an all round awareness about pollution and pollutants. For example little is known about the hazards of agricultural waste in sugar cane farming or the animal wastes in the farms that are washed off into the water source during rainy days. The other pollutant that we may avoid is cigarettes, while taking steps in minimizing pollution from water heaters and fuel based engines, by turning to Green technology.
